Bryce Hasseman - Club Head Coach
Prior to becoming the Dakota Club Wrestling Head Coach, Hasseman spent 5 years coaching the North Carolina Tar Heels. During those 5 years in Chapel Hill, Hasseman helped build the Tar Heel program into a consistent national contender. In 2018, Hasseman assisted in leading the Tar Heels to their best showing at nationals in nearly a quarter century. In 2019, they went on to be crowned regular season ACC champions for the first time since 2004.
Prior to his time at UNC, Hasseman spent multiple years coaching at The University of Buffalo and Oklahoma State. Under legendary coach John Smith, Hasseman coached multiple All-Americans and helped guide OSU to a Big 12 title.
A former U.S. National Team member, Hasseman trained for the Olympics at the University of Iowa and the Olympic Training Center under coach Terry Brands. During his time in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes won a Big Ten title along with a NCAA team title.
Hasseman is a highly decorated international athlete with wins at prestigious events such as the Don Kolov International, the Dave Schultz Memorial, the Guelph Open, the Hargobind International and the Canada Cup. Hasseman competed for Northern Illinois and Bloomsburg University during his college days.
A native of Franklin, Indiana, Hasseman is married to former USA Volleyball National Team player Angie McGinnis. The two met while training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in 2008 and have four sons, Levi, Isaiah, JJ, and Malachi.
